BOSTON — Twenty-one-year-old Fraser Minten didn’t just make the Bruins out of training camp. He’s earned the trust of Marco Sturm to the point that Boston has been able to retool their middle-six.
Minten has proven reliable enough to center the third line, which allows Sturm to bump Pavel Zacha up to the wing on the second line. There, Boston hopes Zacha will be able to bolster the team’s secondary scoring alongside offensive-minded Casey Mittelstadt and Viktor Arvidsson.
Minten skated with Tanner Jeannot and Michael Eyssimont at Monday’s practice, which will likely be the third line for Wednesday night’s opener in Washington.
