TONITOWN, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — Bo's Blessing's, a local organization that helps and supports Northwest Arkansas veterans, is now expanding its reach and impact.

Monday, Bo's Blessings announced that it was selected to become a Blue Star Families Outpost, making it the first in the state of Arkansas.

Jannie Layne, the founder of Bo's Blessings, says the organization was recommended to become an outpost by United States Senator John Boozman, a Republican from Rogers.

The Blue Star flag is commonly used to represent families who have a loved one currently serving, either at home or overseas. Layne says she embraced the blue star more than 30 years ago after her son Bo was deployed to Iraq.
