DECORAH, Iowa — Luther College in Decorah welcomed a special guest as the Crown Prince of Norway visited the campus.

Students and staff gathered to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the first organized Norwegian immigration to the United States. Luther College holds the distinction of being the first U.S. college founded by Norwegian immigrants.

The royal visit is part of the Crown Prince's tour across three states, focusing on sites and communities that have played a role in the relationship between America and Norway. His mission is to strengthen ties between the two nations.
