TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - The Oro Valley Marketplace began phase one of construction on several new improvements to the shopping center on Monday, Oct. 6.
The development includes a new Encantada apartment complex, safer pedestrian walkways, improved intersections, and a public park.
HSL Properties and Borderland Construction are in charge of the project.
Bob Lopez, who has live in Oro Valley for three years, said he mostly comes to the Marketplace to do his grocery shopping. He said he’s tried some of the restaurants, but thinks better options could be available.
“You know restaurants are what we need around here,” Lopez said. “There’s a couple that I do like, but other than that, we need better restaurants.”
He considers Oro Valley a retirement community,
