GRAND FORKS – The Grand Forks City Council on Monday approved a management agreement for the HIVE building downtown following some concerns from council members about the financial expectations placed on the managing company, as well as the city’s future with the building.
The agreement with GrandSky, an aviation business park west of Grand Forks, would begin on Nov. 1 and last through Oct. 31, 2030, and would require the company, to the best of its ability, avoid incurring no more than a minimum $150,000 operating loss for the 2026 calendar year.
“We just wanted to make sure that everybody understood that we’re in the same spot, and the manager will endeavor not to make it any worse than what is currently existing at the HIVE operation and hopefully improve the financial outlook of HIVE
