The group, which included Otter Tail Power Co., Montana-Dakota Utilities Co., and Northern States Power Co., was already in talks with a large, unnamed industrial firm. This planned industrial park was described as the largest ever formed in North Dakota at the time. The corporation's leaders said they would be working with other state and industrial bodies to bring businesses to the area.
