DE PERE, Wis. (WBAY) - Those running the Brown County 911 Center say they’re making progress on filling positions, after concerns about understaffing.

The issue was discussed Monday night before the public safety committee.

We heard from Brown County’s Public Safety Communications Director, Chancy Huntzinger, at Monday’s public safety committee meeting.

Just months after battling a dispatcher shortage, she says they have hired more dispatchers and have more applicants to consider.

In this meeting, Huntzinger also addressed comments made at a September county board meeting regarding the lack of staffing and competitive pay.

She told the committee they have more supervisors and leads than discussed in that board meeting, and that their wages are within $1 an hour less than Outagamie Cou
