WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – A Wichita family is starting over after losing everything in a house fire. Now, the community is rallying around them as they work to rebuild.

The fire, caused by faulty wiring, happened Sept. 28. Since then, the family of seven has been trying to process everything they've lost. Vincent Larae Ransome Jr. says they're doing their best to stay strong.

Charred remains of the home, burned furniture, and clothes scattered in ashes. A house once filled with laughter, love, and the voices of six children, life for the family changed in an instant.

"It was a rush of smoke, you walk in there, you feel your whole lungs fill up, and you couldn't breathe," Ransome Jr. said. "The fire quickly spreading before anyone could stop it. My sister ran out the house, waking me up. Sh
