CLACKAMAS COUNTY Ore. (KPTV) - An Ohio man who stole an elderly Oregon woman’s life savings was sentenced to four years in prison on Monday, two years after pleading guilty, according to the Clackamas County DA’s Office.

49-year-old Jimi Terell Ward pleaded guilty to two counts of first-degree aggravated theft and one count of first-degree aggravated identity theft in September 2023.

Authorities say he then fled to Ohio after failing to appear for his sentencing hearing.

Ward was arrested this February in Ohio, before being extradited to Oregon, where he unsuccessfully attempted to withdraw his guilty plea, the DA’s office said.
