TOLEDO, Ohio — Whether it’s pulling up weeds, cutting down branches or just making sure things are in place, Jocelyn Finley says she’s doing her part to keep the memory of 13-year-old Kei’Mani Latigue alive.
"I'm just doing my part as a human," Finley said.
Finley says she’s out at the memorial site on Miami Street in east Toledo quite often.
"...I'm dedicated to it and her story..." she said.
Latigue was found dead inside an abandoned home back in March, across from where the memorial now stands.
"It's just a really messed up story," Finley said.
She says that’s why she continues to come out to tidy up the site, even giving it a seasonal makeover.
"I just made it a little festive, put some bales of straw and some pumpkins," Finley said.
