SACRAMENTO, Calif. —
A ridge of high pressure will lock in the warming trend for the first half of the week.
Monday afternoon will be noticeably warmer in the valley, with highs in the mid-80s. Foothill highs will be in the upper 70s to low 80s, and temperatures in the Sierra will peak in the mid-60s.
Temperatures will begin to trend down on Wednesday as the next area of low pressure moves in. Models differ significantly on the timing and intensity of this system, as well as how much moisture it will transport.
For now, Northern California should prepare for cooler weather, a breezy Friday, and a chance of showers.
