A pro-Palestine group refusing to budge on their plans to march on the Sydney Opera House this weekend has made a shocking call for the state’s Supreme Court to recognise “a genocide” against Palestinians.

Their extraordinary request to the judiciary comes amid the second anniversary of the horrific October 7 attack on Israel, which saw 1,200 people killed by Hamas militants.

Sydney-based Palestine Action Group has rejected calls from police to reconsider their plans to finish a protest at the city’s famous waterfront landmark on Sunday and have vowed to push ahead.

Citing safety concerns, NSW Police Assistant Commissioner Peter McKenna last week said he had instructed for the matter be lodged in the Supreme Court, objecting to the rally being at the Opera House.
