Magic cut ties with March Madness legend

The Orlando Magic made a couple of roster moves on Monday.

With the NBA season approaching, they're trying to get their lineups in order.

The Magic cut Johnell Davis via waivers while signing Jalen Crutcher.

Davis is the legendary March Madness performer who made deep runs with both Florida Atlantic and then Arkansas. He's an undrafted free agent rookie.

Waiving Davis likely sets him up to end up in the G League this season. As long as no one claims him, Davis can wind up playing for the Osceola Magic.

Crutcher could be heading for the same fate, but he technically joins the Magic's roster with his contract first.

He was a college star at the University of Dayton who went undrafted in 2021.
