Ben Lewis, who starred in “The Phantom of the Opera” at London’s West End, has died at the age of 46 of bowel cancer.
Australian TV star Todd Woodbridge announced Lewis’ death in a post on social media .
“Today we lost Ben Lewis, one of my (family’s) dearest friends way (too) young, and the Australian Musical Theatre family also lost one of the greats!” Woodbridge writes. “More importantly he was one of the great humans, funny, caring and a wonderful mentor to all of the people he (worked) with. ...
“Sending our love to all the family tonight.”
Lewis was diagnosed with bowel cancer in February 2024, according to a gofundme page . By April the cancer had spread and it was determined to be incurable.
