A federal judge on Sunday temporarily blocked the Trump administration from deploying any National Guard units to Oregon, including the California National Guard.

It comes after the Trump administration deployed the California National Guard to Portland, Oregon , after a federal court blocked the Trump administration from federalizing Oregon's National Guard. Gov. Gavin Newsom then vowed to sue.

Professor Rachel Van Cleave of the McGeorge School of Law joined KCRA 3 on Monday to address some of the legal questions surrounding the deployment of the National Guard, including the historic use of the Insurrection Act.
