IDAHO COUNTY, Idaho – A 55-year-old hunter was rescued by the Idaho National Guard after his hernia ruptured while he was in the backcountry.
He was unable to hike or ride his horse out of the area due to the injury.
The National Guard utilized a hoist system to lift him out of the challenging terrain.
They then flew him out using their Black Hawk helicopter.
Afterward, he was sent to a hospital via Life Flight.
