EL CENTRO — The Imperial Irrigation District (IID) announced Friday the appointment of Wayne K. Strumpfer as its General Counsel, bringing a seasoned legal leader with deep ties to California's public sector back to the District.

Strumpfer, who previously held the role from 2021 to 2022, returns to IID with a decades-long career spanning state government, education, and public agency law. His extensive background includes leadership positions with the California State Auditor, the California Victim Compensation and Government Claims Board, and the Long Beach Unified School District, as well as federal experience with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
