A woman has revealed the terrifying moment half her face became paralysed while sipping a cup of tea.
Karina Whyte, 30, welcomed daughter Mackenzie Whyte on August 8. But, just 10 days later, she experienced a frightening episode while enjoying a cup of tea as she felt her lips "start to go numb" and watched the left side of her face begin to sag.
Initially, the disability support worker thought she might be suffering an allergic reaction before panic set in that she could be having a stroke . After rushing to hospital, both the allergic reaction and stroke were dismissed as medics discovered she had developed Bell's palsy.
