Whiteford’s football team already had a lot of weapons on offense.
The Bobcats got even more dangerous on Friday, Oct. 3.
Rocco Pillarelli , a two-time All-State running back at Ottawa Hills in Ohio, suited up for Whiteford for the first time during a 60-36 win over Edon.
“We have really fast kids with the two Ruddys ( Drew and Brek ), ( Antonio) Nachtrab and ( Brody ) Hillard , but he’s the fastest kid on the team by far,” Whiteford coach Todd Thieken said.
Pillarelli planned to transfer to Toledo St. Francis this season, but he decided to come north to Whiteford when that didn’t work out.
“His family is from Whiteford,” Thieken said. “His mom ( LeighAnn Hammons ) is a Whiteford graduate.”
