CHENNAI: Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam president Vijay contacted the kin of victims of the Karur stampede tragedy. Sources close to the actor reported that he had started contacting families affected in the tragedy through video calls.

K Sakthivel, a native of Emoor Puthur village, who lost his wife and daughter in the tragedy, said that Vijay talked with him the other day. Vijay also promised to visit the place soon. Sakthivel said that Vijay talked with him for two minutes. TVK members in the area consoled Sakthivel and said that he could ask for anything when Vijay comes to visit Karur. TVK will soon announce the date of distributing compensation for the victims.
