A proposed 'north' Warwickshire council would be 'loser' in government reform. That is according to a new Warwickshire County Council report.

The government wants to abolish all local government two tier systems, which would spell the end to the county council and all of the district and borough councils in Warwickshire. Each are being asked to decide how it thinks local government services should be provided in the future.

The county council has long pushed for a 'single' authority that would be in charge of all council services across the whole county. But this is not supported by the majority of borough and district councils.

They have said they want a 'divorce' from Warwickshire and instead want a new ' North' council , which would comprise of Nuneaton and Bedworth , North
