Edinburgh’s North Bridge was closed off at Princes Street this morning Tuesday October 7 2025 as they deal with a fire at a construction cabin.

Both ends of the road were closed shortly after 8am with access restricted for motorists and pedestrians.

Three appliances and a high-reach vehicle were deployed to the scene and there were no reports of casualties.

The firefighters left the scene around 9am.

A SFRS spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 7.44am on Tuesday, 7 October, to reports of a fire on Princes Street, Edinburgh.

“Operations Control mobilised three appliances and a high-reach vehicle to the scene, where firefighters extinguished a fire affecting a construction cabin.
