An urgent manhunt has been launched after a masked gang brutally attacked a man with weapons inside his own home.

Three men armed with weapons stormed a house on Auchenreoch Avenue, in the Bellsmyre area of Dumbarton at around 6.55am on Sunday, October 5.

A 49-year-old man, who answered the door before being confronted by the thugs, was attacked and rushed to the Royal Alexandra Hospital, in Paisley, for treatment. His condition is described as stable.

Police are now searching for the suspects, described as "white and dressed all in black".

Detective Constable Hanley, Clydebank CID, said: "The motive of this attack has yet to be established. The only description of the suspects at the moment are that they were all white and dressed all in black.
