A mum has slammed her local school after her daughter was suspended for refusing to follow a 'ridiculous' uniform rule. Rachel Dawson, 42, said her daughter Izobella Dawson, 13, thought she was doing what she thought was 'the right thing' by wearing an accessory that was designed to hide her ear piercings.

Neighbourhood manager Rachel added that her daughter had been able to wear the "invisible" earrings without issues since starting at Kirk Balk Academy in Barnsley, South Yorkshire , just over two years ago in September 2023.

Youngsters being barred from entering school over uniform breaches is nothing new and recently more secondary schools announced they would be banning skirts in a major change .

But Izobella's breach had nothing to do with the clothes she was
