CHIEFS at major airlines have canceled a raft of flight routes forcing travelers to take note when booking trips.

American Airlines and Delta are among the carriers that have made changes to schedules.

But, Spirit chiefs have abruptly suspended dozens of routes after the firm was plunged into bankruptcy.

The airline’s long-term future also remains up in the air.

In August, American confirmed that its Dallas to Eugene, Oregon , route had been axed.

The service, which had existed for four years, had already been scaled back earlier this year before the decision was made to ax it completely.

The route was permanently canceled on August 5.

American representatives confirmed that travelers who had booked flights will be offered a full refund or adjusted itinerary.
