AS Spirit Airlines continues to scramble after filing for bankruptcy for the second time in a year, it continues to shelve its planes at one American airport.

The total number of aircraft in the so-called plane graveyard is now in excess of 40, and could grow even higher as Spirit's bankruptcy procedures progress.

Phoenix Goodyear Airport in Arizona is now home to more than 40 total Airbus aircraft branded under the Spirit Airlines name, known for its budget flights to the hottest tourist destinations.

The already massive storage site could balloon even further due to the airline's latest Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing in August, its second in a year after doing so in November 2024.
