A convicted sex offender called a schoolboy 'handsome' and promised him free chips in exchange for his phone number.

Shaho Mustafa pestered the 14-year-old boy as he was walking with friends past the takeaway where he worked.

Mustafa stepped out of the shop before asking the victim for his phone number and social media account details.

Harassment of the boy had been sexually motivated, a court heard.

Leicester Magistrates' Court heard how Mustafa worked at a shop in Harrison Road, Belgrave, Leicester, LeicestershireLive reports.

Prosecutor Ravinder Darroch said: "On December 19 last year, the school made contact with the police to report that one of their pupils had, on more than one occasion, had an adult male block their path.
