Former Boston Bruins captain and longtime defenseman Zdeno Chara will address the media on Tuesday, one day after the team announced it will retire his number next year .

The Bruins announced Monday that they will retire Chara’s No. 33 on Jan. 15 prior to their game against Seattle.

He is set to become the 13th player in franchise history to have his number raised to the rafters and the first since Willie O’Ree in 2022. Chara recently rejoined the organization as a hockey operations adviser and mentor.
