HAMMONTON, N.J. (WPVI) -- It took nearly 100 firefighters from 19 volunteer companies to get a massive fire under control overnight at Frog Rock Golf and Country Club in Hammonton .

The main building, which served as a restaurant, wedding venue, and banquet hall, has been destroyed.

Chopper 6 was over the scene Tuesday morning, providing a clear view of the destruction left behind.

Crews were called around 2:40 a.m. for a reported explosion. The fire chief says neighbors described hearing a loud boom that woke them up.

The fire spread to nearby greens, woods, and even the golf carts.
