SUN PRAIRIE, Wis. — The Sun Prairie Police Department is investigating an overnight shooting that left one person injured in the area of Sunfield Street and Sun Court just before 1 a.m. Tuesday.

Police received numerous calls reporting shots fired at around 12:48 a.m. Upon arrival, officers gathered evidence suggesting that a shooting occurred between two vehicles before they left the scene.

A person arrived at a local hospital with a gunshot wound. Police stated that the individual was transported to another hospital for additional treatment and has since been released.

Authorities are asking residents who live near the area to check their surveillance cameras for possible footage of the vehicles leaving at the time of the shooting.
