Candidates for the Emporia City Commission and the USD 253 Board of Education gathered at the Flint Hills Technical College Conference Rooms to participate in a candidate forum hosted by the Emporia Area Chamber of Commerce and the League of Women Voters and moderated by Ken Weaver.

After short opening remarks and a reminder of important upcoming election dates, school board candidates were introduced and recognized.

Since there are three school board candidates, Barbara Fowler, Jami Reever, and Lilian Lingenfelter, and only three open positions, no official questioning was held with the candidates. All three were given an introduction to their background and positions held.
