Astronomy-loving Scots are lucky enough to live in a country where we can spot the Northern Lights cascading across the night sky from our back garden, or catch a glimpse of stunning meteor showers from remote islands. ‌

And tonight, Tuesday, October 7, is set to offer up even more astronomical delights because the full moon will be bigger and brighter. The reason? The Harvest Moon, one of the "brightest" supermoons of the year , is making impact. ‌

This evening, the moon should show up around 30 per cent brighter and up to 14 per cent bigger than a typical full moon. But the all important question is - will the weather even give Scots a chance to see it? ‌
