Paddington Bear is extending his stay in Lanark – as the much-loved handcrafted sculpture of the cute character is to stay in place on his landmark bench in the town centre for a further year. ‌

Residents will be continuing to “look after this bear” for another 12 months as the hugely popular statue – one of only three in Scotland and which was originally put in place as part of a nationwide movie promotion – will remain in place thanks to its huge popularity. ‌

Business improvement organisation Discover Lanark this week announced the news that fans will be able to continue enjoying their marmalade sandwiches alongside Paddington at his busy spot on High Street, and told how he has become a firm favourite with locals and visitors alike. ‌
