Ftrain service was suspended between W 4 St. in Greenwich Village and Coney Island Tuesday morning, after sources say a Brooklyn-bound D train operating on the F line dragged debris along the third rail, causing electrical arc explosions and smoke.
The incident also suspended service on the G line south of the Bedford-Nostrand station.
The train hit spalled concrete that was along the track somewhere near the Jay St. – Metrotech station in Downtown Brooklyn around 9:30 a.m., sources told the Daily News.
A passenger took to X Tuesday morning, claiming to have been on the train when the 600V arc of electricity occurred.
“I was on this train that sh-t blew up,” the user posted .
