FRANKFORT, Ky. (WKYT) - Kentucky Attorney General Russell Coleman is announcing a lawsuit against the gaming and social platform Roblox.

It alleges that Roblox knowingly created an environment for predators to distribute child sex abuse material and groom child victims.

Coleman claims the platform is home to extremist sextortion groups and other bad actors.

“We are holding this platform accountable for sextortion and we’re holding this platform accountable for child sex abuse material,” Coleman said.

According to the Attorney General, nearly two-thirds of all U.S. children between the ages of 9 and 12 play games on the Roblox platform. The company was valued at $41 billion when it went public in 2021.
