(FOX40.COM) — Staff with the Yolo County Public Works has issued a safety advisory for South River Road due to shoulder erosion that prevents drivers from being able to pull off the paved roadway that runs along the top of the Sacramento River levee.

Officials said that field inspections confirmed public reports of the erosions, which are affecting stretches from the West Sacramento city limit to the north, down to the Freeport Bridge to the south.

Immediate safety measures are being implemented that include changeable message signs along the corridor that alert motorists to the “NO SHOULDER” conditions.
