Temperatures in Yuma County this week will be in the low 90s and warming up to the mid-90s by Wednesday, Oct. 8, eventually cooling back down to the upper 80s by the weekend.

According to the National Weather Service in Phoenix, an increasing potential for thunderstorms will rise to a 30% chance of tropical moisture and periods of rain by the evening of Thursday, Oct. 9.

“There’s thunderstorm chances starting as early as Thursday and they continue into the weekend,” Katherine Berislavich, meteorologist with NWS, told the Yuma Sun. “And then it looks like with our most recent forecast update, we’ll have like up to like 30-40% in parts of Yuma County.”
