CEDAR FALLS, Iowa — The University of Northern Iowa's Center for Civic Education has received a $1.22 million grant from the U.S. Department of Education. This three-year funding will establish the Iowa Civic Educators Institute, aiming to enhance civic education across the state.

The initiative will offer seminars, workshops, and curriculum development for pre-service and in-service teachers. Allison Rank, the center's director, emphasized that the program will provide essential professional development, covering costs and offering stipends to participants.
