An American man found himself at the receiving end of a "plot to ridicule" him when he attended Oktoberfest in Germany . The annual festival is a significant event and tourist attraction, with millions descending on Munich, Germany to soak up the festive atmosphere. Typically held from mid-September until the first Sunday in October, the festival was originally an October-centric celebration when it began.
