WATERBURY, Conn. — Police in Watertown are asking the public to be on the lookout for a white Ford Escape, a bookbag, and a pair of sneakers believed to have been discarded by a suspect now in custody in connection with a shooting in Waterbury late Monday night.
Authorities say the items were likely abandoned somewhere in the area and could be connected to a deadly shooting that happened around 11 p.m. on Beverly Avenue in North Waterbury.
“I got scared, I mean I’m in shock,” said neighbor Claudia Vital.
Residents of the quiet neighborhood awoke Tuesday morning to a heavy police presence and news of a violent crime that left two people dead inside a home.
“I've known this neighborhood for two years. It’s a very quiet area,” Vital said.
Vital said she has more questions than answers
