National Guard troops have arrived in a Chicago suburb amid an order for a deployment to the city from the Trump administration, officials said.

A spokesperson for Congresswoman Delia Ramirez's office confirmed troops had arrived at the Elwood U.S. Army Reserve, located about 50 miles outside of Chicago.

Footage from Telemundo Chicago also showed what appeared to be troops on the ground at the facility.

Joliet city officials told NBC Chicago they were notified Tuesday that the Texas National Guard would be stationed at the Army Reserve in Elwood. The police have not been in contact with the guard.
