A pass rush in need of a boost got some positive news Tuesday when the Chicago Bears opened the return-to-practice window for defensive end Austin Booker.
Booker, a fifth-round pick in 2024, rejoined his teammates for a short practice that is an extra day of preparation for Monday’s game against the Washington Commanders at Northwest Stadium. The Bears also activated the practice window for running back and special teams mainstay Travis Homer.
Booker has been sidelined since suffering a knee injury in the Aug. 17 preseason game against the Buffalo Bills at Soldier Field. The team now has 21 days to promote Booker and Homer to the 53-man roster, and Booker’s availability for Monday could hinge on how he looks over the remainder of the week.
