Two people were transported to area hospitals after a shooting on Interstate 65 Monday night.

Indiana State Police — Lowell District spokesman Sgt. Glen Fifield told the Post-Tribune Tuesday that investigators haven’t released further information yet, but ISP Troopers responded to a shooting that occurred around 8 p.m. just north of 61st Avenue in the southbound lanes of I-65. Traffic was backed up for several hours because of it.
