D4vd may have several connections to the late Celeste Rivas , but police have yet to name him a suspect in her death because of one major detail.

According to a report Complex published on Monday, October 6, the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed that the 20-year-old singer is not considered a suspect because her exact cause of death has yet to be determined. Rivas was found in the front trunk of d4vd's Tesla last month, but investigators say it's "very likely" her body may have been lying lifeless for weeks before it was discovered.

“The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner has not yet determined the cause or manner of Ms. Rivas Hernandez's death,” the LAPD said in a statement. “As such, it remains unclear whether there is any criminal culpability beyond the concealment
