A month after the death of a 9-year-old boy in a multivehicle road crash in Glenpool, the speed limit has been lowered on the stretch of highway where the wreck occurred.
Signs have been erected lowering the speed limit from 65 mph to 45 mph on the section of Oklahoma 67 from its intersection with U.S. 75 east to near Peoria Avenue. The change resulted in a 45 mph zone on Oklahoma 67 through its intersections with Elwood Avenue, Fern Street and Broadway Street.
Residents in the area called for the change in the aftermath of the accident that killed Talyn Bain, a Glenpool fourth-grader. The stretch of highway reportedly had witnessed other speed-related wrecks in the past.
