It's voting day in the Fairbanks North Star Borough and all across the valley and hills voters are turning out to cast ballots under overcast skies.
This morning, Goldstream residents flowed into the Ken Kunkel Community Center at a steady pace.
"We're always one of the top precincts," election worker Linda Dolney said. "We have a core group of people that vote all the time. Doesn't matter what the election is, they always vote."
The energy at the voting location around 8:30 a.m. was cheerful if not a bit quiet.
Matt Varga said he came to the polls this morning to execute his civic duty.
"It's easy, you know? It took me essentially less than five minutes to do this and I feel good because I've done something," Varga said
