Fresno police arrested a convicted felon after discovering firearms, narcotics, and ballistic vests during a search of a Southeast Fresno residence, the department said on Tuesday.

Officers from the Southeast District Safety Team were patrolling the area of Butler Avenue and Hazelwood Boulevard when they saw several people drinking and loitering in public. One of the males contacted by officers was identified as an active gang member on parole, police said.

A probation check of the suspect’s residence revealed narcotics, firearms, and ammunition in plain view. With support from Southwest and Central District Safety Teams and the Northeast Bike Unit, officers obtained and executed a residential search warrant.
