SOUTH BELOIT, Ill. (WTVO) — Two teenagers, under the legal driving age and wearing black masks, were arrested Monday night after stealing a car in Beloit.
According to South Beloit Police, officers spotted the vehicle, a 2012 Chevrolet Impala, around 9:22 p.m.
Officers attempted to pull the car over, but the driver sped away until eventually stopping, at which point both occupants got out of the car and ran.
Police said the suspects were 15 and 13 years old.
The 15-year-old suspect was charged with unlawful possession of a stolen vehicle, aggravated fleeing to elude, reckless driving, speeding, resisting a police officer, driving without a license, and improper lane usage. The suspect was taken to the Winnebago County Juvenile Detention Center.
