(FOX40.COM) — On Tuesday morning, the National Transportation Board of Safety said they are investigating the medical helicopter that crashed into Highway 50 eastbound, which left three people in critical condition.

On X, NTSB shared the following statement.

"The NTSB is investigating the crash Monday of an Airbus EC-130 T2 helicopter operated by Reach Air Medical Services in Sacramento, California. Helicopter crashed shortly after takeoff from UC Davis Medical Center heliport, headed to Redding, California."

According to the Sacramento Fire Department, there was a pilot, a nurse and a paramedic on board in the crashed helicopter. All of them were taken to UC Davis Medical Center's Level One Trauma Facility, where they remain in critical condition.
