LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - Police have identified the man killed in a shooting outside a Lake Charles bar Friday night.

Derrick Bertrand, 24, was lying on the ground in a parking lot near Juicy’s Lounge when officers got to the scene around 11 p.m., according to the Lake Charles Police Department. Bertrand was taken to a hospital, where he later died.

Friends and others posting on social media said Bertrand was a rapper who went by the name 187 Derrick.

At last word, no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting.
